Wenatchee Mayor Andy Ferguson declared a state of emergency and imposed a burn ban on August 1, 2026, as wildfires continue to spread across Washington State. The declaration comes amid a record-breaking wildfire season that has prompted heightened alert levels across the North Central Washington region. The city's emergency measures aim to prevent further fire spread, with the burn ban prohibiting outdoor fires and fireworks. The city will monitor fire conditions closely and may adjust restrictions as needed. Residents are urged to comply with the burn ban and report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
