Wenatchee City Council appointed former Police Chief Jeff Reinfeld as the city's new administrator on Tuesday.

Reinfeld, who served as police chief for seven years, will begin his new role on Sept. 15, replacing outgoing administrator John Smith. The council approved the appointment unanimously.

City staff confirmed Reinfeld will oversee all city departments and manage the $85 million annual budget. The transition follows a search process that began in June.
