SBA opens disaster loans for Dec. storm victims

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

The U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has opened applications for low-interest disaster loans to help businesses, nonprofits, and residents recover from the December 2025 winter storms that impacted 18 Washington counties.

The SBA announced the availability of loans for physical damage and economic injury, with deadlines of April 27 for physical damage applications and November 24 for economic injury applications. Homeowners can borrow up to $500,000 to repair their primary residence, while businesses may access up to $2 million for property and equipment. The SBA noted that mitigation improvements, such as weather stripping and storm windows, may qualify for a 20% loan increase.
