US 2 Paving, Chumstick Repaving, Vantage Bridge Closures Begin

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

WSDOT announced roadwork beginning Sept. 8-9 that will affect US 2, Chumstick Highway, and the Vantage Bridge. On US 2, north Wenatchee will see a right-lane closure from milepost 118 to 119 on Sept. 9 from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for paving. Chumstick Highway, between US 2 and SR 207, will have single-lane closures and pilot cars from Sept. 8 to 25, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Vantage Bridge will have single-lane closures and 9-ft width restrictions 24/7 starting Sept. 9.

Residents and travelers should plan for slowdowns and delays on these routes. The Chumstick Highway work spans 19 miles and will affect commutes and travel between Leavenworth and Plain. The US 2 paving is a short-term closure on a local stretch, while the Vantage Bridge restrictions are ongoing until further notice. WSDOT advises drivers to expect reduced speeds and detours.

WSDOT's construction schedule will run through Sept. 25 for Chumstick Highway work and Sept. 9 for the US 2 paving. The Vantage Bridge restrictions began on Sept. 9 and are ongoing. Drivers should check WSDOT's website for real-time updates on road conditions.
