On July 13, 2026, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on eastbound I-82 near Union Gap in Yakima County. Luis Vazquez Del Angel, walking in the eastbound lanes, sustained serious injuries and was taken to MultiCare Memorial Hospital. The driver fled the scene without stopping.
