WSP Seeks Witnesses to Hit-and-Run Collision

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses to an injury hit-and-run collision that occurred at 1:56 a.m. on June 25, 2026, on westbound State Route 96 near Dumas Road/Elgin Way SE. A pedestrian was struck by a silver/grey late 1990s or early 2000s Chevrolet Tahoe with an unknown license plate. The vehicle fled the scene, continuing westbound over Interstate 5 into Everett.

WSP Detective Nick Brockman is asking for anyone with information or dash camera footage to contact him at (360) 757-2008. A witness described the driver as a white male in his 40s or 50s with a younger female passenger. Camera footage shows the suspect vehicle is missing a passenger side marker light.

The Chelan Hills Fire, which started July 4, 2026, at 12:05 a.m., is burning 400 acres in grass and brush near Orondo and Chelan Falls. Level 2 and 3 evacuations are in effect, and state fire resources have been mobilized under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan.
